Who Can Operate
🛠 Who Can Operate A Sentry Node in Orb3?
Operating a Sentry Node in the Orb3 network is open to anyone with interest and the technical capability. Here’s what you need to know about becoming a Sentry Node operator and the prerequisites for earning rewards.
Getting Started:
Download and Install: To operate a Sentry Node, simply download and install the required software, then run it on your system 🖥️.
Purchasing a Sentry License Key: To be eligible for rewards, operators must purchase at least one Sentry License Key 🔑.
KYC Requirements for Claiming Rewards:
KYC Check: To claim accrued rewards, operators must pass a Know Your Customer (KYC) check, conducted by Blockpass, a service trusted by major projects like Polygon, Chainlink, Cardano, and Animoca.
Eligibility Conditions: The KYC process verifies that the operator:
Is not located in the USA 🇺🇸.
Is not subject to any Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions. Check the OFAC website for more information.
Local Law Compliance: Operators must confirm that purchasing a license key complies with local laws applicable to them 🌍.
Node Operation and Maintenance:
Active and Funded Nodes: Sentry nodes need to be actively running and properly funded to pay for gas fees. Inactive or underfunded nodes do not accrue rewards, even with a license key 💰.
Stay Updated: Be aware of significant updates which might temporarily impact challenges. Updates will be announced on Orb3 communication channels (e.g., Telegram, official forums).
Software Updates: Node operators may need to update their software periodically to keep their nodes operational and in sync with the latest network requirements 🔄.
By following these guidelines, you can set up and operate a Sentry Node in the Orb3 ecosystem, contributing to network security and potentially earning rewards for your participation.
